In 2004, a group of Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School students started Robotics Team 1325, also known as Inverse Paradox. Since then, the group has grown to about 50 students encompassing all areas and grades of the school. The Team contributes to the science and technology awareness of Gordon Graydon students, staff and the broader community.
Team 1325 is split into two groups: Engineering & Communications
The engineering group is responsible for the design of the robot; the programming of the robot’s cRIO
Microcontroller; and the mechanical or actual building of the robot.
The communications group is responsible for all public relations initiatives including business planning, sponsorship and fundraising; and the 3D animations displayed at competitions.
The team has a number of mentors from the school and business community that help guide the team and provide direction. There is also a parent committee that helps with food, transportation, along with providing support amongst a wide variety of other things.
Team 1325 has won several awards since inception including winning a silver medal in 2011 at Canada’s largest robotics competition, the Greater Toronto Regionals.
